Seven at one stroke

With Team Motopark Academy, Spiess Motorenbau GmbH has gained another major customer in the international Formula 3 sport. The team based right at Oschersleben’s circuit will enter seven Dallara Volkswagen single-seaters in two different Formula 3 series, next year.

Team Principal Timo Rumpfkeil has set himself ambitious goals, for the 2010 season: his team will contest the ATS Formula 3 Cup with four Dallara F307 Volkswagen and the Formula 3 Euro series with three Dallara F308 Volkswagen. “The fact that our involvement in the development work will be bigger increases our chances for the coming season,” Rumpfkeil says to explain the switch to Volkswagen.

All the seven drivers for the coming season have been signed and have already raced for Team Motopark Academy last year. “Therefore, we know the strengths and weaknesses of our drivers very good,” reveals the Team Principal, “And know how to make maximum use of their potential.”

The ATS Formula 3 Cup will be contested by Denmark’s Kevin Magnussen, Brazilian Luis Derani, Swede Jimmy Ericsson and Luís Sá Silva from Angola. And this is the Team Motopark Academy driver line-up for the Formula 3 Euro Series: António Félix Da Costa (Portugal), Adrian Quaife-Hobbs (England) and Matias Laine (Finland).
